Question: How do I access my Email account using Thunderbird?

Answer:

  • In Mozilla Thunderbird, select Tools > Account Settings.






  • Select "Email account " and click Next.






  • Enter your name and e-mail address.





  • Select "POP" as the type of incoming server you are using. Your incoming server is mail.redalto.com. Click Next.





  • Enter your e-mail address for the "Incoming User Name," Click Next.




  • Enter your email account as the name and click Next. (this is useful if you setup multiple accounts)




  • Verify your account information and click Finish.




  • In the Account Settings window, select "Outgoing Server (SMTP) " listed below your new account.




  • Now click the "Edit" on the right hand side







  • For "Server Name" enter your ISP's smtp server (if unsure you can find a list of the most common Australian ISP addresses here).



  • Now your account is set up, so click the "Get Mail" to see if you have any, as this is the first time you are checking your mail you will be asked for a password, so simply type in your email password.

    NOTE: if you don't want to do this everytime you check your mail check the "Use Password Manager to remember this password"
